Data Mining Analysts
XLSolutions Technology Labs has immediate openings for hands-on, driven, well organized professional with experience in commercial data mining and software quality assurance. This individual will be the primary lead for data mining application testing.
Job Description:
- Directly impact the quality and efficacy of data mining features in highly technical software through testing, feature reviews, and documentation creation
- Create automated tests to verify the behavior of statistical routines specific to the data mining field
- Perform manual, ad-hoc, and regression testing to confirm software fixes
- Identify project risks and make recommendations to minimize risk
- Identify, log and track software issues using Mercury Quality Center
- Proactively solve problems
- Maintain a strong working relationship with developers, technical leads and project managers

Education and Training: M.S. required in statistics/mathmatics, Computer Science. Degrees in related fields will be considered.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- A passion for data mining topics
- Familiarity with vector-based interpreted programming languages (such as S-PLUS, R, Matlab)
- Experience with SAS system – BASE and STAT
- Experience in biostatistics associated with clinical trials, particularly the later stages
- Ability to ramp up quickly and apply new technologies and processes
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Experience in statistical model building, mixed effects, linear and generalized linear models, survival analysis
- Eclipse IDE experience desirable
- Experience with SAS Clinical or Oracle Clinical desirable
- Experience in numerical analysis, statistical computing, and optimization. Familiar with accuracy, stability, and convergence issues in computation
Work Environment/Physical Demands: General office environment. No special physical demands.
